As a recent empty nester (pun intended) he and his wife of 27 years, Lizzy, moved from Lake Oconee, Georgia to McLean, Virginia. Birds is an overyly enthusiastically supporter of his alma mater, The University of Tennessee “Go Vols!”. On the weekends you can find Birds out in the community hosting weekly trivia nights, telling competitive stories at TheMoth.org or boating on the Potomac with friends and family.
